Mortar & Pestle
A mortar and pestle can be invaluable tools in your kitchen. They can be used for grinding spices or macerating any sort of foodstuff. I have seen guacamole made in a mortar and pestle. You just mush everything together.
Mortar and pestles are available in cooking supply stores and ethnic grocery stores. I would advise getting one in an ethnic market just because they cost less than they do in kitchen supply stores. I would also advise buying one as big as you can get. It makes the job much easier.
