Luni: Ah...I met CeCe and Dustin in Wizard Chat a long time ago and met them for the first time offline here at the con. Needless to say, they are no longer the "innocents" they used to be by the time I finished with them. Their souls are now mine! Bwahahah!
Jenny: Yeah, and Dustin scared the living hell out of me when Mandi and I were wandering Chicago looking for the lost Allan (don't EVER let your boyfriend wander off in Chicago. Make sure you get a leash or something). He came up to us and was like "aren't you Jenny and Mandi?" I guess he recognized us from the Megacon page. Scared the living hell out of me that strange people at conventions knew who we are. I guess that's a brief hint of what it would be like to be famous. Frightening.
Luni: Taken Sunday by my sister of Dennis (Topcow Letterist Extradornaire) Heisler and little 'ole me. I would love this pic as it is SOOO Dennis except for moi being in it. I wasn't at my best (lack of sleep and good food does this to me...scary, isn't it?), plus my sister was annoying the hell out of me per usual. But what else are siblings for, right? That is okay, I annoyed the hell out of her on the plane ride back home. Heh!
Still, it is a good one of Dennis, despite his opinion. See, he was gently chiding me for not taking a pic of him when he was all suited up at the dinner which I couldn't do as I had forgotten the camera..yet again. He looked good that night, ya all missed out.
Luni: This is a shot (taken to finish up a roll of film so of course it is one of the few that developed correctly...figures) of the just released Todd McFarlane Toy's movie monster line that contains: Jason Voorhees (Friday The 13th), Leatherface (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and my favorite, Freddy Krueger (Nightmare On Elm Street). These are the REAL heroes of the movies. Heh! Kill all humans who are too stupid to live! Yep, I am always rooting for the villians on these movies.
Luni: I was on the prowl in the artist galley to pounce on various pros for sketches. And guess who I found..or I should say found me! Randy Green, the most modest and nicest guy I know in comics. And he didn't run when he spotted me either, but called out to us and got up to talk (I do believe I was dragging poor Tim Moran, Tammy and Finar as well as the long suffering sibling of mine around at that time)! Neato! We tried to drain him of all info, but he wouldn't reveal all secrets...darn it! (I still say that if we just had reverted to torture with bright lights and whips he would have revealed all!)
We got to see Randy's sketchbook and the art for the Witchblade #500 as well as the cover to the Tales of the WB #6. We all insisted on taking pics of the man and said sketchbook. Cute guy, eh? He is taken though, so down, girls!
Luni: I actually took this one instead of my sister (who I also used as my pack mule). And per usual, my sister's camera decided to stress me out by not cooperating with my demands! I waited till I got home before I stomped it into atoms with GREAT joy! I'll get her a new one for christmas, so quit yelling at me that I should have greater respect for other people's property! It was evil I tell ya! I saved her soul most likely!
Anyway, this is a pic of the great Finar/Jim (in darkness t-shirt that I don't think duda and jenny believed he was going to wear though he kept telling them he was), and some really lousy looking X-men (though both REAL nice people). Though I did like the cyclops fellow cause he helped me with the demon camera. Real hero here! Woo! I was thinking of shooting Tim Moran at this time though cause he just goes "click" with his camera and all done. :::is envious:::
Jenny: Yeah, Jim still looked like a big dork in that comic book teeshirt. I almost didn't sell it to him, I was so afraid of being seen with him. He looked like a big dork. But then again, I wore that Jim Mahfood shirt to the convention too. Probably looked like a big dork. But he was cute, so that made it okay. Malachy Coney is not, so that didn't justify wearing that Darkness shirt.
Luni: One me best buds (who you can thank for the scans and me still being alive as I am sure Mandi was heading down here to murderize me for the delay), Mike a.k.a. seal god or pympseal along with his baby seal peaking over his shoulder. "Here's looking at you, kid".
Luni: The seal god again with his superbaby seal and me (agh!) after discussing where poster tubes make great bats. Sis took this pic while we were at the "eating area" of the con with Mike and his dad Sunday not long before we left the con for the last time. It was a bit of deja vu from the Mega-con here as we were doing our "ignore comic ignorant family members" routine as we caught up on who got what sketches and who we had to kill for them and where to hide the bodies. Rude? Yep.
Luni: To finish out a roll of film (believe it or not, I did take like enough pics that finished one roll and a half), I took this. Plus, my bro is the biggest Wolvie fan I thought it would be amusing to show him. Heh, it was! I am just too nice to my siblings, aren't I?
Luni: Heh! This is a picture taken at the topcow booth of ...prepare yourselves!...John Hill a.k.a. DrStrange on the MB's and ...::::drum roll::::..Peter "the god" Steigerwald.
I just had to have a pic of "god", ya know? And since I mess around a bit with John (not in that way you pervs!!!!) on the boards too, he had to be held hostage till I got me pic of him as well.
Peter is fun as you can tell from the pic. Posed very nicely for us "fangirls". I don't know if any of the others got a pic of Peter or not. If not, HAH! I have a Peter pic! Be jealous. With John in it! Ya jealous, aren't ya? I also got Peter to sign my sketchbook in his normal creative fashion (think of how he does the credit pages and you have how he does it). Now I KNOW you are jealous! He never signs the same it seems and I think I like how he did mine the best so nyah on you all!
Luni: Nathan Caberera (topcow colorist, penciller, and designer as well as the creator of Riot Girls). I took this after I ambushed him (along with Tammy) at the topcow booth Sunday for a sketch of Frank from Subculture (the babylike villian has attitude!!!!!). Nice guy though seemed almost...shy. He is standing a bit in front of the promo piece for the upcoming Riot Grrrls comic which we all bought the preview sketchbook for. Looks fun, but then, I like the idea of girls causing mayhem and general violence. :)
Jenny: Yes, I'd say that Nathan Cabrera doesn't like to blow his own horn. I'm sure that he'd like others to, but that doesn't really have relevance. He doesn't talk much about his work, and how fantastic he really is. I mean, has everyone seen the Fathom #3a variant for Monstermart? And did anyone ELSE pick up that excellent ashcan for Riot Grrls? Really nice paper, like this rough brown cover, and soft almost like vellum interiors. That's the sort of nice touch I'm looking for. I think that when Riot Grrls comes out, it's going to be one of the best things that I've ever seen.
