Cameron refers to the San Diego Comic Convention as "Con." Like it's some sort of all important entity, almost a deity in it's own right. I don't necessarily think that he's that far off. Con is a holiday. A fun little spot where you're on vacation, no matter what. The people are colourful. The goods are plentiful. And there's never been a convention yet without some fabulously interesting story attached. None yet to rival that of Kurt, Vampire Boi. I still wait. So enter into the world of a fangrrl. I'm not nearly as rabid as I once was, but neither am I quite as lame. I mean, really. That first year we waited in line at the Top Cow signing, and we didn't have anything to sign. Pretty much bottomed out right there. This year's convention was full of the usual drama that swirls around my life, but was also a pretty decent time. I'd put it the top five of every convention I've attended. That's a respectable statistic. |
