Jenny: The frequenters of Dan Brereton's booth, our other home away from home. Dan remembered us from two years ago. And not in that "hey Dan, do you remember us?" "oh yeah, you were those...girls...at the convention." sort of way. He was like "weren't you here two years ago? And you bought prints. And you (Sarah) read the Black Planet trade on the plane trip here. And you had an older guy with you (finar) and his son. Was that your dad?" I mean, DETAILS. Down to remembering that I had an orange shirt. This guy is GOOD. Shown here with Beverly from Hourglass Studios (sculptor of the fabulous Gunwitch bust), Ted Naifeh, and his companion (?)

Mandi: You know, I'm starting to realize I don't know dick about comic books anymore. Not that I ever knew that much. I just don't know who half these people are.

Jenny: Glenn Danzig. He sells original artwork under the name "bob" or some such. Stearns wanted nothing else than to meet Danzig, and thanks to Ben for showing us where his booth was. After much pussyfooting around, someone finally asked him for a picture. He was suitably gracious. I decided, after having watched that VH1 "who's a badass?" special, to NOT mention the Misfits.

Mandi: Isn't this guy a musician of some sort? I hope his transition from rock to comics was smoother than Rikki Rockett's.

Jenny: Prerequisite superhero photo. This year, elektra and spidey were the big names (upcoming movie, and big re-release), and they were pretty good. I mean, you can't fuck up spidey (except for that creepy megacon spidey), and other than having the wrong colour eyes, Elektra was pretty good. She shoved her snatch into many a fanboi face. I asked her not to do that for me.

Mandi: Did you two decide you were going to dress as superhero paisley skirt girls?

Jenny: Steve Ellis, and his wife. Very gracious, and rather excited that I knew his work, and had actively sought him out for a commission. I really enjoyed Tranquility, and if I saw right in Previews, I think he's doing some White Wolf work in a few months. He did a pretty kick ass job on both of our pieces, and I'd definitely buy from him again. Check out the piece in the artwork section.

Mandi: Why does Steve Ellis sound familiar? I am so out of it.
