Jenny: I hadn't intended to get anything from Dan at the con. But what can I say? He's very persuasive. And he cut me a deal. Sarah's favorite piece from the convention, he did a gorgeous job. Especially seeing how he's never even read The Maxx (a blasphemy that I'm going to attempt to remedy). Very worth it, and even more gorgeous than expected. Check out more of Dan's incredible work at http://www.nocturnals.com. Mandi: I could almost say this was my favorite but they are all so damn good. |

Jenny: The surprise hit of the convention! Steve was someone that I was looking for, as I've been a fan since Tranquility came out. John had asked for advice on where to get some artwork, and I brought him to Steve for one of the pieces. Steve seemed surprised that people were seeking him out for commissioned work, and did a fabulous job. He'll definitely be someone I go back for, and I'd like to see him do some of the great greytone work I saw in his portfolio. Check out his work at http://www.hyperactiveart.com. Mandi: There is something about unadulterated pencil work that really does it for me. You can really see the artist's attention to detail and their creativity. |

Mandi: Or lack thereof. Jenny: The big disappointment of the convention. Extremely pricey for what it was, I guess I had just gotten my expectations up from what I had received in the past. It wasn't just me, Steve Lieber was also surprised at the quality, and suggested that perhaps he wasn't feeling well or some such. always a possibility. Just one of those things that left me shaking my head. His official site is at http://www.poisonelves.com, or was the last time I checked. |

Jenny: Always someone that I stop to see at a convention, Andy Lee does gorgeous brush work. I'd someday like to have him do gigantic pieces for my living room. I've never been disappointed with his originality, the movement of his pieces, or with how friendly he is. Check out Paperbrush studios at http://www.nohtv.com/andylee/index.htm. Mandi: I still have my Andy Lee painting of toast. It's cool. I have to admit I almost sold it on eBay but in the end, I kept it. |
